Will I be able to fly down to Southampton to stay with my daughter and see my grand twins for the first time since January, for Xmas?

I have my doubts. :((

If the lockdown ends on schedule on 2nd December you should be able to.
I doubt it. Airlines have massively cut their flight schedules.

But, can I go down on say, 16th December and stay until 4th Jan?
Question Author
Loganair has one or two flights daily. Pretty expensive though.
Well it's a yes then, although who knows what directives might come out before then.
Go on the train, you'll be able to take them far more pressies! Look at the schedules but they're often cheaoper nearer the time at the moment as the companies seem to be advertising a flat expensive rate as they don't know what the rules will be later on!
i would take a chance and book something, provided there is a chance you will get your money back if the lockdown continues into next year.
Drive.
Question Author
I’m not that bothered about the price and would rather spend an hour on a plane than 6 hours on a train.
Question Author
No. Wouldn’t dream of driving all that way at my age, Naomi.
then book it, what can you lose.
Question Author
Good thinking, emmie.
Oh I hope you can, Chrissa. Never mind cost and you can have presents delivered there. They’ll just want to see you. I have two new babies. Don’t know when I’ll see them so make the most of yours and enjoy the cuddles!
i won't be seeing family at all this year by the looks of it, i will miss them terribly.
i should rephrase that i did get to see them all in august, but it will be a long time till i see them again i expect
Know how you feel, Emmie...been a year and a week since I've seen my children and grandchildren and they are producing greats without me being there! :-)
I don’t know chrissa, but for everyone’s sake I hope you can .
i would go for it.
they're thinking of tweaking the rules (yet again) just for Christmas so watch this space
