Tax Free Childcare Accounts

i am not think but i have a very hard time understanding the amounts the govt pay into my account. I put the exact same amount in every month (946.40) yet the put in varying amounts
Last month they put in £236.60, the month before 92.34, the month before 207.37. Once i did a payment of £1 just to see and they put in 52.09!
Anyway, does anyone know when the periods run to and from or is it dependent on when you opened it? anyone else have these problems?

I have a very good NI based pension, an even better private pension based on me paying in every month since I could afford to and 50% of the rental of 6 properties, other half is Kates, anyone can say whatever they like, we've earned it, we enjoy it, so there ;o)

Bednobs pays her taxes and the government decides how to distribute it so I don’t know why your having a go at her. I ask again, do you receive any extra government help?

Absolutely bloody shocking!

There was a time when the main breadwinner got tax breaks to help towards the upbringing of the children (mainly the man) but they realised that in many cases the saved tax was not benefiting the children but it was benefiting the local landlord! So now it gets paid to or through the main carer. The Government want both parents at work so the best way for that to happen is to help out with childcare while they are little.

Other countries seem to manage it perfectly well!

Bednobs is a valued employee of NHS & indispensible imo. I hope this system can keep her working. Its the likes of Bednobs that keep my ill son alive.

Never had children, therefore never had child allowance.

Been out of work, but never claimed dole/job seeker's allowance or whatever.

Been homeless but never fawned to the the self-righteous clique who are allowed to dispense houses and benefits to the favoured or fashionable "victims", often at the expense of less fashionable, but often more real victims.

My moral principle is, as far as it's in your power, stand on your own two feet, and, if you you produce kids, then you look after and provide for them, not slime your way into arrangements which transfers your responsibilities on to other people.

My taxes contributed to the money BEDNOBS receives and she was more than welcome to it.

Exactly ummm. Child benefits used to be a pittance as well. Perhaps they would help buy a pair of shoes! Taxpayers money is being poured into childcare for parents with good incomes so that they can both pursue careers and the government can boast of low unemployment. Not good for the kids either in my opinion!

I am not "pursuing a career" I am working to pay the mortgage. I'd like to see what it's like to be a stay at home mum.

Not blaming you Bednobs, just the system. I would like to see a system where parents would be recognised and rewarded for doing a worthwhile job staying at home with young children, but then that would send unemployment figures up! Childcare is creating employment now for so many. Just glad I am of the generation where there was no pressure on women with young children to work. They were precious years.

thats not on bednobs. Forget the mortgage, chuck the job & get down the council with babes & demand a house on the social as a lone mum. Hubby can sneak in whence alls settled ;)
