Hi I'm looking for a story or video on you tube explaining positive messages about being black or mixed race.
A 6 year old I know and her mum have been subjected to racist abuse from a stranger. The 6 year old is saying she hates her skin she's not beautiful and asking what ni**er means :(.
I want a short online video or story to show having dark skin is beautiful and it's not ok for people to say mean words. A story or animation would be amazing can anyone help please?

I haven't watched it yet, I'm sorry about that.
Hopefully it may contain something useful.

Some humans are utterly dreadful in treating other humans.
Alba, did you intend to post a link?

How sad for them, and for us for being so ignorant. Colour is irrelevant for goodness sake, it’s the person not the skin tone. Personally I think it’s about time we all stopped harping on about our colours of all shades.
David, couldn't agree more.

I think this sums it up wonderfully. :-

When I was born I was black
When I was sad I was black
When I was hot I was black
When I was sick I was black
When I was scared I was black

When you was born you was pink
When you was sad you was blue
When you was hot you was red
When you was sick you was green
When you was scared you was yellow

And you call me colored.

I'm sure she's a bonnie young person, and no-one should ever be bullied, because of skin colour, race or what team you support... I myself see people for who they are. No link but hope she's ok.

Thanks everyone
Maybe she's a bit young for this
There is a company called American Girl and apart from dolls of all races and disabilities produces a series of books on all girl and life issues, friendship, internet safety etc. Not sure if there is a specific one for this issue but probably. She might be a little young now but mum could read to her and discuss. They are available from Amazon UK at good price
