If someone is self employed and you want to use their services. My guess is they will charge you per hour or part thereof.
I wouldn’t have thought that they charged for the holidays.
I think they can charge a 'retainer' during the holidays ! But not all do! The 'retainer' is normally £10 a week or so! Not all charge it though!
Would you be wanting any assistance from the childminder during the holidays if you are working.

Someone I know pays half the fee during school holidays.
My kids went to nursery and I had to pay the full amount even if we took them on holiday. You're paying to keep their place. It's their income.
I used be a childminder and I charged for the hours that I had the children and in the Holidays I would charge the hours I had them, and if they went away I would charge half of the money to keep the space plus we are entitled to have holiday pay too as its a business. Childminders can also charge extra for meals etc, although I never did.
