Anyone else hate Christmas as much as I do ! Always glad when it is over - every year. Hate the shopping, the food, the expectations, everything. And I dislike it afterwards when everyone says "had a good Christmas" yes thanks - did you.

The only part of it I dont mind is young children, and Father Christmas, and church carol service - the rest I hate.

Nope, I love it. My fave time of the year. Maybe you should go on holiday at Christmas time if you hate it so much?
I would't miss it.

I hate Anne Robinson more !!
I've never been overfond of christmas even when I was young.. I enjoyed it when my kids were little but as they grew up I just bah humbugged it more and more...... its too much fuss for my liking and for a few years I just went along with it and couldnt wait for it all to be over.... the last couple of years I havent celebrated it and Ive just enjoyed the time off work, though i still made a christmas dinner.
Bah humbug
Love it!!

Don't hate it and don't love it. It's a nice enough day and I enjoy giving presents.

'Married out of faith', what century did that come from, it will be burnings at the stake next.
I absolutely hate it too Kassee, its all so artificial, like you I love carol services and the childrens plays, but the over the top shopping that people do and everybody trying to outdo everyone else on lights and decorations and parties etc, ugh...I took the tree down today went back to work, cleaned the house and now Im ready for the springbulbs to show their little heads! Next year I intend to go away somewhere that doesnt celebrate.
I don't think that's relevant, jno - I know people of pixi's faith who still have a very good time at Christmas, family time with gifts etc., even if they are not celebrating the religious aspects.
If you hate it that much-- why do any of it?

Why do any of it - because its what's expected. I am part of a family, a large family. Brothers, sister, parents, children, children's partners and so on and so on. I put on a show same as everybody else, buying presents, giving them out, opening up my bottles of wine, tins of biscuits, slippers, books, smellies, etc etc. Usual christmas dinner, usually around at my house, with me doing the dinner.

To be honest when I wrote my post, I thought there would be loads of people feeling exactly the same as me. I am surprised that some of you actually enjoy it all.

The house decorated with lights on the outside, seem to be shouting out "look at me - I'm having a happier Christmas than you are - cos my lights are brighter than yours". So next-doors rush out and buy even brighter lights, and an even bigger Father Christmas to attach to their chimney. - Ugh !!
