This morning I was waiting for some driver to return to their car and move it away from my dropped kerb to permit me to go to work. I suddenly heard the unmistaken sound of horses' hooves and looked up the road to see the most magnificent sight.

It was a beautiful large carriage driven by 2 white horses. The carriage was all white, with magnificent leather upholstery. The only part of the ensemble not white was the part of the wheels in contact with the road, painted black. The coachman and his companion were dressed impeccably in black boots, white breeches, black tail coats and top hats with a finish that glistened in the bright sunshine. In the carriage sat the bride and her father, I assumed. She was elegance personified, wearing the most beautifully understated full skirt wedding dress, her hair classically dressed up and gentle unassuming makeup. She looked fit to be a princess. A sight that truly took my breath away.

I asked at work if anyone had seen this wedding carriage outfit before - none of us had.

By comparison, 2 sets of neighbours are having separate parties tonight. There are fireworks going off, for nearly over 2 hours now. The music is loud, with a terrible beat (I have hardly heard any vocals). The garden for one party is lit with flashing red lights and the party-goers sound somewhat like Tarzan at full throttle. I suspect the recycling bins will overflow by morning.

Iz it coz I iz old?

No problem, anne (this thread is going to save me a fortune in Christmas postage...)
I sincerely hope that all of your days continue to have two halves well into the future, Ena!

If you ever have a day with only one half, we'll have to arrange for another white horse-drawn vehicle to call on your street ;-)

Without wishing to put a damper on it ena, I went to a similar wedding at a cathedral. That and the wedding breakfast must have cost thousands, 5 months later they were separated and eventually divorced. Young ones today are not in it for the long haul.
Hi mamya and ttfn. Go and gatecrash one of the parties Ena. They may have brandy.
Question Author

Picky sod you are Ena.

Micmak it is the fact you look on the bright side of life I like you so much.
Question Author
Don't pick on him, Mamya, at least he mentioned the ruddy wedding, lol
I like the fact that the hearse has windows so that you can see out.

I take it that the bride wasn't part of the gypsy fraternity - any wedding of theirs that I have seen was a bit .... sort of .... tacky.
