hi, i am rubbish with dates, but got round to thinking yesterday that i hadn't had a period for a bit of time, so i did a pregnancy test and was completely stunned when it was positive. I did the other one in the packet and that also said positive. i just felt numb, because although i thought i always wanted to be a mum, this is really not the right time - i am on a lot of medication which is teratogenic and have a hip replacement booked in for 3 weeks time!
Anyway, i made an appt at the gp for tomorrorw. then last night there was a bit of blood when i wiped and again this morning and still now. I presumed that this was probably any possible pregnancy ending, so did another test today expecting it now to be negative, but no, still positive.
When can i expect a negative result if it is a misscarriage? And really, how reliable are tests anyway (it was a boots cheapish one)? do i need to be worrying more? i feel so ambivalent about being pregnant (aS does my husband) that i just think to myself if this is the pregnancy ending then that's just what is meant to be i suppose. Will i do my health any harm if i just sit and wait for it to happen?

oooh B00, i wont kill ya lol

im good at posting the advice but if anyone saw what i did when pregnant theyd know i dont take much notice lol

my rule, everything in moderation
Lol, sorry Red, didn't mean to fly in the face of your very good advice. It just slightly annoys me these food fads that come along which say what you can't eat when pregnant. For wvery food that's "bad" for you, several years later they'll tell you to eat crap loads of it as it's "amazing".
As i've said women have been having babies since time began, and they managed pretty well without following any food guidences.
Bednobs is a sensible lass and as long as she doesn't go mental as far as food is concerned she'll be fine.
exactly, i agree!
But if someone asks what they should do or avoid id rather give them the current advice than say anything else if you know what i mean. Its entirely up to bednobs how she goes about it.

i was silly when pregnant and its only by luck that my kids were both late and a hefty weight.
I think you're suppose to avoid vitamin A in pregnancy.

I drank coffee the same as I always did.

I'm ashamed to admit that I never managed to give up smoking either....I was still smoking 2 or 3 fags a day.....and my kids are all healthy.
Hi! Congratulations.
Firstly if I were you I'd join the community at www.babycentre,co.uk and find a group. There will be ladies on there in the same position as you and at the same stage etc. I had a mc in Oct and I'm now 21 weeks with a little girl, Ava. Babycentre has been a total lifesaver with all my little questions and queries. I'm called Helsterway on there if you want some help.
I've been avoiding caffiene, alcohol, soft cheeses like brie etc, nothing like raw fish or anything like that.
You'll be fab. Congrats again. x
How are you feeling now bednobs?
