pregnant at 17!!!!

im pregnant!!! im still with the father whos 18..
weve been together 4 years!
any advise on this as in whens my first scan and all that kinda stuff....

at 9 weeks pregnant your midwife will have told you this.

it varies from area to area and ireland may be different to england.

your midwife may give you a booklet about pregnancy which will give you all the facts too.

Always put your baby's needs first. I know I sound as if I am preaching. But I do know what I am talking about. It's going to be tough. You are so young. I had my first baby when I was 16. I made mistakes because I was so young. Believe me if you don't put the work in when your child is young, you will suffer for it later. Don't just love that baby, make sure he/she knows how much you love him/her. I wish you all the best.

ignore all those others tryin to tell you to keep outta trouble, i had my first when i was 17 i turned 18 the week after and having them younge is better than having them in your forties when ur old enough to be a nanny,
anyway you should have your first scan at 12 weeks and get blood tests and that done.

Regardless of what you have done, as long as you take care of yourself and your baby then good on you. In answer to ur question, have u been to your GP? Have u seen a midwife? It is vital that you get medical care as soon as possible and follow ALL the advice given to you by the health professionals. A baby is a massive responsibility and wont be a cute little baby for long...be a good mother from now onwards and always put your childs welfare first...make yourself proud! PS: Yes...not may of us are saints are we and many, many decent people have made lots of bad judgement calls, mistakes and errors...as long as we learn from our mistakes then we should be given a chance. Thats the key...learn from your mistakes and dont repeat them. xx

hey bad girl x I fell pregnant at 18, been with boyf for 18 months when i fell. You will get comments and will be treated different, people stare and assume ur a single mum etc. Just ignore them, its petty, old school views.
Its hard work hunny, really hard, and i found being young it was even harder but u have ur boyfriend, and support is so important! Look into whats gonna happen in each trimester of ur preg, whats normal or not, and prepare for the birth and new baby early so ur ready in plenty of time.
My daughter is 9 now and i kno i did a fab job, as u will!!
My hubby was born when his mum just turned 17, he is well brought up had a good childhood and loving parents, age does not determine if you will make a good parent, u will!
Ur scans should be at 10 weeks and 20 weeks, the later one is more detailed and u will be able to ask the sex.
Labour hurts, theres no gettingf away from it, i had an epidural for my 1st and absolutly nothing for my 2nd child, and tho it was hard it was so much better without the epidural if you can do it!
Just do what u think is best, and you will be fine!
Put everything u can into caring for yourself and baby, and never be afraid to ask ur midwife anything, she/he is there to help you in anyway they can... good luck, and please dont let peoples silly views get to you, u will get them so often, but u know that ur a good mum and to hell with their petty minds xxxx
