hi cidermonkey.
Its awful having a cold when pregnant as you cant take anything for it you poor thing.
as for baby, well the placenta is a wondeful thing and filters out lots of nasties like colds so bubs is happy in there not knowing that you feel poorly at all.
hope you feel better soon x
U can take Vit C. I take 6pd when I have cold but not necessarily good for you.

The body absorbs what it needs and ejects surplus.

Thanks redcrx - glad to know she's free from this nasty cold in there!

Terambulan - I am already taking vitamin c as part of a multivitamin for pregnancy - so I would think it's probabaly best not to take any more?
Hi Red :)
You can take paracetamol every 4-6 hours to keep any symptoms like a temp in check
And hot lemon (just lemon juice with warm water) is really lovely and warming too
But steer clear of brandy ;-)

pink-kittens - my other half is under instructions to bring lemons and olbas oil on his return from work! Can't wait for a hot honey and lemon drink.

I wanted to hold off from taking any paracetomol, even though I know it's ok to take, but I might really have to cave in - my head is killing me!
sorry i shouldve expanded on my post. when i said you cant take anything I meant like decongestants, lemsips etc that we all want to take at first signs of a cold.
I assume that people know paracetamol is safe but not aspirin
