Well whats wrong with BA and T5 in heathrow have been saying in the past few days. Teething trouble or what I prefere to fly with easy jet at least you know they normally take of on time and treat you like you are silly but at least they have got me there on time almost 100% of the time. Whats your experiance then with airlines.

I must admit that I have been lucky with airlines and have not have any serious delays and have flown to the moon and back (in theory that is) on this planet. Well maybe an exagirationg but who cares.

The only serious delay that I have ever really had was in florida we got delayed for nearly 2 days but we got put up into a 5 star hotel and got loads free food and stuff and enjoyed it.

Ok so when have you beendelayed (whoops) and have you enjoyed it like I did.

Balls leg me and scott got delayed in america for nearly 2 days and we got put up in a 5 star hotel and loved every minute of it
Heathrow and Gatwick are hell on earth and to be avoided if at all poss. Have used East Midlands twice in the last 6 months. Heaven on earth. Small and civilised.

Delays happen (my worst was returning from Tenerife, 5-6 hours) and they carried on there as if it never happened before and couldn't even organise meal vouchers.

And who are the idiots who think those seats with metal armrests are a good idea. You have no where to lie down during a long wait. Get them to spend a few sleepy hours in their own airport and there would be improvements.
i must be lucky i've ravelled load and never been delayed, or if i have its only been but an hour os so , so not noticable
A 7 hour delay coming home from Turkey once - monstrous!
and that would be travelled not ravelled oops

Palma here you come then leg
Charmin! Gatwick can be awful to get to if you dont want to drive. But when we lived in Watford I agreed to a hol to Crete flying from there because we could get the Brighton train right thru.

Wrong. Floods on the line meant we were kicked off the train in London. No advice. I dragged my case around the underground and on buses. Ended up in Victoria with tickets not valid for the Gatwick Express and explained to the ticket man that if he didn't let us on to catch our plane then I wouldn't be responsible for my actions!

He let us on, we caught the plane, just, but I was in excrutiating back pain for the entire hol.

So now I hate Gatwick, the Underground, buses, and Crete!

But I love carrots. Unshoved! Ya know ....

Whoops that sounds like me and you will.
The only serious delay I have had was a few years ago flying to Laredo in Texas via Chicago and Dallas from Manchester with American Airlines the delay was 7 hours but at least we were given a meal at Manchester and put up in a hotel in Chicago with meal and phone bills paid for (even if the hotel did want my credit card number which they didnt get) then next day given upgrade on flight to dallas and on reaching Laredo was given free limo to my Hotel no complaints there
i dont think ive ever been that badly delayed, thankfully!

Ive never had any problems with Gatwick airport ;>) but its a nightmare to get to/from as we're in the midlands. I have flown from there a few times and i cant say its that bad.
Worst delay was only about 3 hours coming back from Tunisia, normally fly from Manchester. The worse thing is all the roadworks near the airport that take ages to get through
