Morning eveyone

3weeks ago my financee was in the kitchen cutting carrots when she cut her finger not badly and she was fine didnt bother her (shes been through alot worse things than that), 30mins later she said she felt sick, then dizzy then fainted. She went to the doctors the following day and the first thing she said was are you pregnant (as did everyone else when I mentioned this to them), we got a pregancy test just a cheap one 7 and it was negative but it has been playing on my mind as I have heard they can be wrong, is this true? one of our friends mentioned on saturday that both her pregnancys said negative on the home test but she has one kid to prove that wrong and the other is growing inside her now, please help??

Should we do a urine test and take it to the doc's to be sure ?!??!?!?!?

Thanks

There are such things a false negative results.

Has your fiancee missed a period?

If she has then Id suggest buying a double pack of tests, doing one today and if its negative waiting a couple of days and trying again.

It could just be that the shock of the cut made her faint. It does happen.

Thanks for your answer.

She is on the pill so we dont know thats the problem!! And thats why I want to 100% know either way as if she is and shes taking the pill then thats not good. An worried think she has forgotten about it but i aint.

I know but its not like her to faint!! Not over something like that!

Buy some tests later and ask her to test tonight.
It is possible that the pill may have failed and that it is covering up any signs of pregnancy.

If you test today and again in couple of days and both show negative then Im sure they will be correct. The tests pick up on a pregnancy hormone and if she was pregnant 3 weeks ago the hormone level would be high enough to test for by now.

It could be many things, heat, side effect of pill, a bug.

I can understand why you may be worried about her being on the pill when pregnant so explain that to her and Im sure she'll be happy to test and put your mind at rest. You souns like a very thoughtfull and caring person, hope all goes well

Well when we did the test (3weeks ago) it had been 1month from when we had unprotected sex (pill but no comdom) so should it have shown by then?

Thanks

Dean
It should have shown by then.
I can tell that you really want to make sure tho so another test is best way.
Oh and condoms do fail you know. It could still happen (very rare) using both pill and condom

Well it will be a weight off my mind. Think best way would be to have a wee wee sample sent to the hospital?

Sorry I am coming across abit all over its just I dont know which way I want it to go psoitive or negative, because I want kids big time and I think am ready but on the other side the finances are not there and my fiancee feels very strongly about having alot of our debt gone before kids which i agree with so my heart and head are pulling in different directions haha!

Thanks

Dean
I dont think the GP sends samples to hospital. They use a test too, similar to a home test.
I know what you mean about finances. I think if people wait til everything perfect for a baby then there would be a very low birthrate.
Dont worry about things until you know for sure.

Perhaps your fiancee simply just can't stand the sight of unexpected blood? It's one thing dealing with monthly periods, but the sudden shock of seeing blood pouring out of a cut finger might just have been enough to trigger her to feel faint and dizzy.

No matter how hard I try and discipline myself to look away, I have a tendency to become either dizzy, or I faint, every time I have to have a blood sample taken. Perhaps she has a similar tendency?

i just wanted to say that your fiance is lucky to have such a caring, supportive partner.

good luck
