Would it be common to experience no sickness at all during pregnancy.

My girlfriend is into her 13th week with no sickness at all. Although she has been very tired.

Any help would be great

It's not common, but it's not unheard of. Your girlfriend is just oine of the very lucky few, who don;t exsperience sickness in the early stages. It's caused, believe it or not, by the body's attempts to reject the 'foreign body' that has arrived, although it is a natural, if unpleasant period of foetal development.

Just tell her not to mention it at the ante-natal clinic, she'll get lynched!
I wasn't sick with either of mine but i did have loads of heartburn at the end so didn'tget off scott free lots of luck to you both
I suffered from nausea in the early stages of pregnancy and was only sick twice (sorry if that's too much info!)

get your friend to visit the bounty website... there are lots of people on there all in the same boat, I'm in the 'due in Novemeber ' section

Tell her not to worry - the lucky ducky!
I never even felt sick during either of my pregnancies.

Its about a 50/50 chance, so not unusual at all.
all pregnancies are different, some women feel great in the first trimester then suffer in the later months!
My wife was not sick untill week 15 and then was constantly sick untill week 22
I wasn't sick for any of my 4 pregnancies..but I did feel sick with one of them.

My sister in law was sick the whole 9 months which is a bit extreme...it isn't unusual at all not to be/feel sick. Tiredness is very common!
I never had a single moment of sickness of nausea at all during my pregnancy. not even the metallic taste that some women complain of. Entirely normal, and very lucky is what your girlfriend is.
I wasn't sick at all during mine.Did get indigestion towards the end and oh so painful leg cramps in the middle of the night but again towards the end. If your girlfriend is having sickness then just be grateful and don't worry about it. Tiredness is nothing to worry about it her. Lots of people get that and I certainly did, sometimes really overwhelming tiredness. Good luck to you both
I didn't feel sick with either of my pregnancys but like some others have said, suffered terribly with indigestion in the last couple of months.
Infact I didn't feel any different and didn't know I was pregnant until I took a test (just to rule it out). I was about 11 weeks gone with my first until I discovered I was expecting, I still didn't feel pregnant until I started to feel the baby kick. It's quite a surreal thing to go though.
Congrats btw :o)
I was only sick once during my first pregnancy, but was sick until 30th week with my second!
I was sick as a dog throughout my first pregnancy, and gave birth to a big healthy boy. When I became pregnant the 2nd time, I heard loads of different stories about people who were sick with a baby boy and not a baby girl, and vice versa. Also, people who were only sick with their 1st pregnancy and never again, or only sick 2nd time round, etc etc. As it turned out, I was horribly sick again, although this one was a girl. Ask 100 different women, you will hear 100 different stories. You will also hear that sickness indicates a strong pregnancy - again, I know plenty of women who produced healthy babies after not so much as a moment of nausea. Everyone is different, as you can see from the range of different experiences here - if your girlfriend's midwife and doctor are happy with her progress, then you have nothing to worry about. In fact, as has been said above, she should thank her lucky stars!
much as I wouldn't like to contradict andy-hughes, I think the idea of the body trying to reject the foetus is no longer used - and I would have found it a bit alarming if I had been told that whilst pregnant. The enormous rush of hormones is generally accepted to affect the digestive tract, and combined with the stress of early pregnancy, nausea can result in some women. I do agree with him about not mentioning it to other pregnant women who are suffering though - I would have punched the lights out of anyone who had gloated to me about not being sick - except I couldn't stop throwing up long enough to do it!
with my first baby, i didn't even have a pregnancy test done until I was 16weeks because I had zero symptoms other than a missed period which at the time wasn't uncommon for me as i wasn't regular. I put on no weight and didn't show until I was about 24 weeks pregnant. Even then, I wore my favourite jeans until I was about 32 weeks. madness! i was only 18 at the time, so maybe my age played a factor.

My subsequent pregnancies became more and more problematic. I should have quite while I was ahead, hehe.

Congratulations, and enjoy the easy ride!
i wasnt sick once during both my pregnancies, didnt even feel nauseated, but did have heartburn and absolutely terrible constipation, that was hell!
i was the same as a couple of the others, i had no nausea or sickness but had really bad heartburn which is slighty better because you can get gaviscon on perscription from your midwife, but nothing really helps sickness! just count yourself luckly. goodluck with the rest of the pregnacy, enjoy it while it lasts (if you have a good one that is) because you do miss being pregnant when it out!! best wishes!!
