I really really want to take my 8 year old daughter to a festival this year, but after going myself to V for the past 3 years i don't feel that this type of festival would be suitable for us as a family. Does anyone know of any family festivals going on this year, i'm hoping for music that we'll all know but a more child friendly atmosphere with less alcohol and drungs! Any ideas????

Where are you based? Guilfest is quite decent for familes I'm told. (I saw the Pogues and the Proclaimers there a few years back when I lived in the area and there were lots of families in attendence actually).

I live in North Wales, by Chester but don't mind travelling a couple of hours. Thanks for the suggestions so far.x
China Doll is spot on with Guilfest.
Although you could try Reading.I go every year and there seems to be quite a few young ones running about having a good time.
The Isle of Wight festival is very child friendly. It has a family camsite away from the teenagers and also a children's playsite. I have been going for about 6 years now and have only once seen a slight scuffle - and that was during the World Cup and they showed football onthe big screen - something that they have stopped doing now. The age range is from 2 months to 92 without a word of a lie!!
