hi wasnt sure where to put this one...
when i was a child at school,at christmas time we used to make our own decorations for the tree. we had to cut them into shape then put them in the oven. my mom still has them now 23 years later and hangs them on her tree every year.. does anyone know how to make these. i am not making these for christmas before anyone thinks i'm mad it is for a summer fun day at the local childrens club
can anyone help

You could use Fimo (feemo?)- you get it from craft shops, it comes in loads of colours and has instructions on the pack.

What you probably made with your mum would be salt dough - i think!

The simples and cheapest modelling medium for this is salt dough. Mix ordinary flour (eg tesco vlaue self-raising) with lots of salt - to make it taste vile so kids won't put in mouths - if you want to make it viler add some nail-bite fuid (honest!) - then mix in enough water andknead it with your hands to make a pliable modelling medium. You can add colours such as powder paint to the body of the dough if you want bu it is not necessary.Make shapes, let them harden a bit then long slow cook in the oven to really harden them off. Then you can paint, stick on sequins etc
