7-8 Weeks Pregnant And Having Small Amount Of Blood

I'm 7-8 weeks pregnant and since friday I have been getting a dark brown discharge in a small amount. (although last night it became more of a dark red colour but back to brown today)
I had a missed miscarriage last sept at 13 weeks but the baby had stopped developing around 8 weeks so I am really concerned it is happening again.
I have an appointment tomorrow morning at the early pregnancy unit at the hospital and hopefully they will be able to tell me what is happening with hopefully good news but I know it might be bad.
I've had a bit of discomfort-not pain so much- like a period pain on and off and my back sometimes aches like it does during a period and the morning sickness feeling I've been having every morning til lunchtime doesn't seem as bad.
I've looked on line and you get all sorts of information. some mums have had this discharge and everything has gone on to be fine, other mums have had it and it's gone on to be a miscarriage so I don't know what to think.
Can anyone offer any advice or reassurance please. I wish the EPU appointment had been today and not tomorrow as I don't know what to think. :(

Difficult............I would fear the worst and hope for the best.....

Try and keep to a routine of your household tasks today.
Good luck. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I had bleeding constantly from 8-13 weeks, including one massive gush when I thought I was losing the baby, but I'm now hoping to give birth in 8 weeks time. Let us know how you get on. Fingers crossed for you. Xx
I think you should prepare yourself for the worst xx

thankyou everyone. I'm feeling more prepared than I did last sept for bad news.I felt a bit naive afterwards that I went for scan after bleeding started that everything might be ok. I'm going to try not to fret for rest of day though.
I am really sorry to hear this and I am praying that you and your baby will be ok. My sister in law had exactly this at 8 weeks in every pregnancy and got frightened and upset but it settled down after a few days and all her babies were full term and healthy.
jen. a worrying time for you, but hope you get good news tomorrow at the clinic.
Best wishes, jenarry. My friend had that the whole way through and still had a healthy baby. Hope they can reassure you tomorrow. Good luck xx

well i had the scan today and feeling more confused. :( I'm still bleeding in small amounts and pregnancy symptoms have lessened but internal scan showed there is a sac present but is at a stage of 5 weeks and 3 days not the 7 weeks and 5 days that it shoud be. Not feeling very hopeful still and I have to go back next tuesday for another scan. They talked about a possibility that it is implantation bleed but my understanding is this only usually lasts a day or two not the 5 days that I have had so far.
I took monday off work as I was concerned - should i take more time off and take it easy or carry on as normal?..
Jen...what will make you feel better and help you get through this time? And if the worst does come to the worst, will it help to know you did all you could have done to make it work? Keep hoping and we will all hope with you.
been looking out your post jen. so they did confirm a pregnancy ? and no miscarriage, ?

Thankyou Woofgang. I want to stay relaxing if I can but my head tells me that it probably won't make any difference so I will see how i feel in the morning.
Yes anne they did a pregnancy test which still says positive and the sonographer could see the sac which is at a stage of 5 weeks,so nothing to be seen inside which is normal at this stage as too early. i was almost expecting her not to see anything at all. :/ so it's a waiting game and return in a week to see how things are. I know dates can be wrong but the fact that the scan shows I'm only 5 wks along and not 7 is quite worrying for me. :( feels to me like baby has stopped developing at an early stage just like my last pregnancy.:(
shall keep you in my thoughts, Jen

well, there is no point in saying ' don't worry' jen, but hopefully you will have more information at your next scan, take care.

Thankyou both. It's lovely to get some support.
My hubby is only person who knows about bleeding and I don't think he knows what to do or say.

I had my follow up scan today and I have miscarried (I think last friday as thats when bleeding etc was at it's worst) I don't feel too bad today but it does upset me to think that it has took 8 months to get pregnant after last mc and then to miscarry again is all very disappointing and sad. :( added to the fact we are in our forties and maybe mother nature is telling us it isn't meant to be.
Sorry to hear that Jenarry xx
You poor love - my heart goes out to you.

I have nothing practical to say except take care of each other.x
Big hugs, jenarry x
