Is there some sort of incentive on offer? Otherwise, I can't for the life of me see the benefits in letting everyone know you're now wealthy.

I wouldn't tell anyone. MrAC has a big mouth, though, so everyone would find out very quickly - probably before me.
I am not going to tell anybody when I win.

Like Alice, I would be worried that 'er indoors might find out and spend it all.
If there's a big win, the press look for the winners. Maybe it's easier to come out and say it rather than have the reporters hounding your friends and family.
