Paying in at Lloyds for credit of a Halifax account

They've closed my local Halifax so can I use Lloyds bank to pay in and withdraw cash - free of course - instead?

Sorry - NOT true. All banks acceot bank giro credit, yes. Many (I'd guess most) make a charge if it's to an account at a different bank.
