Where can i get the best advice on exchanging US$ for GBP. I have a sum on $ I would like to change but am unsure as to whether or not to wait until there is a better exchange rate. Where can I monitor the exchange rate and where can I get the best advice about this. Thanks.

How much???
Sorry, I'm not awake yet and I read it too quickly. I thought you had one dollar! You could try Oanda: http://www.oanda.com/convert/classic but I'm sure there are many other sites to follow the exchange rate.
You can watch live rates on many sites. I would suggest http://www.globaltradestation.com/forex_prices.asp or http://www.dailyfx.com/fxpowerchart/ChartStation.html Essentially most markets are in an uptrend and have been for 100 years. If you want to change, look at Oanda above for classic rates. Watch the live rate and buy at an all time high or low. I did this with USD in May at 1.91 GBPUSD and on GBPCAD at 2.52. If you want to get technical, ensure you are young and have lots of hair. Otherwise I would suggest making money in other ways!
