my partner was made bankrupt in May and has now been told he wont have any income tax deducted from his wages for the next year. i need to put this money to one side for when the OR asks for it. can anyone tell me how to work out how much to put away each week?

Doesn't your partner have any previous wage slips? Just use whatever was on them to put away. Failing that, if you know their previous (before bankruptcy) tax code and their monthly salary this will work it out for you (approx)
