Another ebay scam?

I sell mainly tights and stockings on ebay, so I was a little surprised to receive an email last week, asking
Is it new? pay c.o.d.? where is it? As it was not referring to any specific item, I just ignored it. Today I received another email to the same effect but from a different name.

I then forwarded both emails to ebay spoof and got an answer saying no ebay connection and to treat as suspicious and delete. This came from ebay IRELAND although both the names were supposed to originate from Merseyside

I have to conclude that this is a fraud of some sort but cannot figure out what.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Were these messages on your e-bay, or just came through as e-mails? If they were just e-mails ignore them, they will be related to a scam somewhere. If on your e-bay then report them to e-bay.

Thanks for that - it is something I completely overlooked. They were just emails direct, not on the e-bay `my ebay`. If they could have related to something that I was selling - where the location could have some significance or a higher value I could well have been taken in and answered. But in my circumstances the questions were meaningless.

NEVER click a link or open an attachment in one of these emails. That can give the sender access to your computer and data, including any banking/credit card details.
