Recently, I was unemployed and I have had my six months JSA.

Now I am working again.

How long do I have to work for now before I can reapply for JSA (If i was made redundant)?

I think I must now work continuously for a period of two years - is this true?

I have a partner who also works full time.

Can you not claim Income Support if you aren't eligible for JSA? Is JSA better or something? I'm not being sarcastic, I don't know if there is a difference.

If you are not eligible for JSA you can only claim Income Support in certain circumstances.

In my case, as my fiance works full time, I cannot claim Income Support. If, however, I was a single person on my own I would be eligible for Income Support. (After any entitlement to JSA expired of course).

So, as I cannot claim Income Support and my entitlement to JSA is nil at the moment; I was wondering what safety net was available to me, if any.

Specifically, when would I have the 'peace of mind' that if I was made redundant I would get JSA?
I can't actually see anything on the JSA web site that says you can't claim it for another two years. It could be buried in the small print of course, and I'd be surprised if there wasn't some limit, but I can't see one.

You'd be best off asking the DWP
