You can get simple DIY will kits from WH smiths etc, or off the internet. These are fine and as long as they are witnesed they are legal. They cost a few quid. If you have complicated bequests or need to set up trust funds and the like, it's best to consult either a will writer, a solicitor, or these days even your financial advisor, to sort this out. Price would depend on complexity but could be a hundred quid or so.

Nothing.

Borrow a book from the library (eg Which guide) and use the text from there. Be careful to read the rest of the book so you understand what you are doing. If you don't understand go to a solicitor or will writing company - anything from 30 upwards depending on the firm and the complexity of the will.

May be best to steer clear of will writing firms. Poor quality work, & persuading people into unnecessarily elaborate schemes which increase their fee, seems to happen more than it should.
