Hi there,

can anyone tell me if i can have my wages paid into a basic savings account with hsbc ? I only want the money to go in, i have no bill to pay so no direct debits or standing orders to do.

If your wages are paid directly into a bank account then all you need to do is provide the Sort Code and Account Number (though you'll probably be asked for bank name, branch and address as well) for the wages to go into whatever account you specify. Your employer doesn't need to know what sort of account it is - and the computer making the payment just needs the Sort Code and Account Number.
