I need a Solicitor to advise me regarding paying off mortgage in my partner of 17 years mortgage in his name only. Would I be entitled to sell on? There have been problems with Wills he left but has no dependants & I’ve already paid £15000 4 years ago? Thank you.

If you need a solicitor then get one.
Barmaid specialises in this
make sure you get a lawyer who knows about 'equity'

the mortgage co wd LOVE you to pay off the mortgage.
pas de mortgage. what rights does that give you? none - certainly not to sell on. It will not give you title, but MAY give you a right to part of the proceeds on sale

It depends whose name the Land Reg has the owner. That gives the name of the person who can sell - it seems your partner

You say there is a will, and there are difficulties - which implies, you are not mentioned....You need a solicitor who specialises in wills and equity

and the rest of y'all out there
make a will / wills for chrissakes and avoid all this !

agree - and make sure you have a good property one, I would start with Irwin Mitchell and, no, I am not employed or have been employed by them but 10 percent reference fees would be nice.
Irwin Mitchell are good
but not cheap

but when they give you the answer: you know it is the answer
