I'm starting this new job but circumstances have changed since I had my interview and the hiring manager said I said I could do 7 days a week and could come in sooner than what I'm saying now. My availability been approved online though. Can someone refuse to take you on once they've offered you the job based on availability?

When I was at Uni I got a P/T at MaccyD's. I said I was available anytime week-ends Tuesdays and Thursdays. My lectures changed a few weeks later and I couldn't do a Thursday shift. I just told the manager, no probs. No big deal.

Yes. And if they did take you on, there's nothing to stop them firing you two days later. Sad, but there y'go.
Yes.
This is what happens when you're not honest with prospective or new employers, they don't like being messed around.
Who said anything about dishonesty?
Is doing 7 days a week even legal these day,I know you can opt to do 7 but it should be a regular thing in your job description.

Abbey, stop listening to the scaremongers here. Just tell them that due to family commitments that you are probably not going to be available for Sunday hours after all. If that's your current situation, then it's the truth.
I doubt very much you set out to be dishonest when you applied...you just wanted to show availability.
Abbey, somewhere could refuse to take you on, or sack you, for pretty much no reason, for the first couple of years.
However, you have proof of approval of your availability. Print it out, in case of any problems, but, you have agreement.
Availability, doesn't necessarily mean working 7 days a week, it means no particular days you can't do. Print out the agreement, stop worrying and good luck xx
