Hi. I have been in my job for 18 years, it's never changed very much, I do the same thing all day... and I really don't mind. I like it!
I am trying to complete my appraisal review, how on earth do I answer the questions:-
'What would you like to achieve over the next year?'
'How will this mutually benefit yourself and the Company?'
How do I say that I like things the way they are, and I don't require change, without looking like an idiot?

More details would be helpful but generally, say continuing to carry out and improve your ( role / tasks) to the same high standard / whatever describes your role working at it best. Suggest you are willing to do refresher training in x y z areas to ensure you can perform at your best. I have reception staff who are very happy in an unchanging role and they dread...

Its hard to reply if we don't know what you do -different replies for different jobs.

1. extend my abiites ( and then list the things you are good at and say you wish to enhance an improvement )

words to use: enhance - ablities - improve - life long learning - lock down - new opportunites - chacne to learn

mutually benefit
company spending on moi will motivate and increase quality in both service time and quality
meaning gtr profit

( did I do this full time - no, but I took an exam in this and people (retakes) rang me up and asked me how I passed)
Appraisals have had their day ( confused and rendered useless by/with assessment) but for gods sake dont say that

appraise /not appraise - you cant really show a difference
( unlike for example vacc or dont vacc in covid)
yes / no APC

1.appraisal is a complete waste of time and resource is true but cannot besaid in any circumstances

2. no one knows the difference between appraisal ( cuddly etc ) assessment ( fail / pass, eetc) and as a result neither work

3. some firms have tried it and given up as a bad job

seem to be valid no matter what

oh get off your lyre, Nero
honest

I KNOW that Ab Editor has just moved something to a cul-de-sac but that is her prerogative

hey 1978 the consultants were kicking around the juniors via an enthusiastic registrar - South Sfrican -obviously knew how to kick the kaffirs around. those were the days, and we said can you take a message back to the consultant s ? ( "please do some ward rounds" - no really !) - and he went BALLISTIC at the thought ( at what they wd do to him ) that we had opinions too

(later accused of research fraud)

I have reception staff who are very happy in an unchanging role and they dread appraisals for that reason. They are good at their job so i am happy if they answer that they would like to continue to perform well and assist the company in it's aims going forward etc.
GULLIVER, perhaps you need to start your own thread if you want to go down that road?
More details about your job are needed so that any suggestions we make are relevant.
Corbyloon maybe you should practise what you preach. and try getting your own house in order first . OK.
hi gully
hi corbo
play nicely in the school yard - chrissakes
the sight of two girls ( not you of course) spitting biting and gouging this early in the morning, is putting me off my coffee
chelle has put her thumb on the loo-loo
the workers look on appraisal as a threat
and it is meant to be a motivator (hur hur hur)
