This will sound really stupid - I know that my car insurance is due next month but I can't remember who it is with or find the paperwork. Other than wait for the renewal notice is there another way I can find my insurance details?

How did you pay?? Look at bank statement.
Have you had any e-mails about the car or any other insurance offers from them?
"I've forgotten who my insurer is" comes up as a question frequently on AB. The first thing that's always suggested (quite sensibly) is to check you bank (or credit card) statements if you pay by direct debit or online, or your cheque stubs if you use that method of payment.

Otherwise it will cost you a tenner to get the information from the Motor Insurance Database:

Under the regulations of the Financial Conduct Authority, your Insurer/Broker should give you at least 28 days notice prior to the expiry of your insurance.
Does you e mail deleted items folder still contain messages from the time you would have renewed?

You need to have your insurance docs with the resat of you car details, you could be asked by the police to show them.
WBM now the police tend to check online if you are insured, as has happened to me the last 3 times I have been stopped

No you don't, my car insurance details are online as the insurance company I deal with are trying to cut down on the paperwork they send out.

I have no printed details of my car insurance.
