I have to buy a new mattress.

Should I use my smallish savings or use my 0% (at the moment) credit card?

I’m talking about £500.

Card.
If you are able to pay it off before the 0% offer runs out then use the card.
Card...definitely.
Credit card as you have protection for purchase over £100
Use the card. It will give you protection on your purchase.

Ok. Thanks. I’ve got less outgoings than before because my rent for my new flat saves me, £85/month.

What about a 0% deal with the bed shop?
I don't know whether that would make any difference to the price but you won't have the protection offered by the credit card if the goods should turn out to be faulty.
Why if you have a 0% card?
And what Jack says.

Good point.
£500 for a mattress ?
Question Author
Yes, anneasquith. I want a good brand name that’s not going to have to be replaced in a couple of years. Especially as my granddaughters are not going to want to bounce. :)
The card is charging 0% for now. Whilst your savings is earning you about 0.0000000000000000001% if you shopped around. *IF* you can (remember to) pay off your credit card before they raise the rate then use that. Otherwise use savings and avoid stress.
"£500 for a mattress?"....yes, decent mattresses don't come cheap.....ALTHOUGH one of the Best Buys in Which? is only £150 (the Ikea Morgedal) which "gives good all-round support, is very durable and won't sag".
Somebody might find this info useful sometime soon.
