Police To Stop Investigating Burglaries

I know burglary has been considered a low-level crime for some time now, but having been a burglary victim I can assure you it feels like anything but, so my question is do the police have their priorities in order?

I'm sure the recent £1.5m cost to come to the conclusion that Ted Heath would have been questioned will have Heath quaking in his boots.....oh, hang on, it won't, and that as Weinstein allegedly sexually assaulted some actresses on UK soil no doubt a vast amount of money will be spent investigating this even though there is zero chance of him facing trial in the UK.

I accept it's difficult to capture a burglar, but does it being difficult mean they shouldn't at least try?

even when told who the culprit is..where the goods are advertised on ebay.. and by whom they don't want to know up here !
MM, to be fair, the recent plague of 'hate crimes' has them at full stretch.
No, I don't think they do have their priorities in order. I wonder why that is?
DD...we have 20,000 fewer Police than we did in 2010, although there are some of here that will try to tell you that we don't need all those numbers any more (!)

The Tories, the "Party of Law and Order" have reduced Police numbers so much, that they can no longer do their job properly.

So what can we expect ?
Some people seem to have forgotten the role of the police;
Role of the police
The police have core operational duties which include:

protecting life and property
preserving order
preventing the commission of offences
bringing offenders to justice.
when you offer a collar on the plate Douglas ?
thought they did that years ago mikey, the beaks have stopped punishing them anyway.
they've probably stopped after complaints from householders living in odd numbered houses ...

They do their (pay)master's bidding, Murraymints. Worse than it's ever been and leadership seems extremely suspect in any event.
This is a problem brought about to Tory policies.

Bring back the 20,000 Officers that lost their jobs, and there will be plenty of staff available for all those tasks Danny.
If the police refuse to investigate certain acts such as burglary, isn't that encouraging unlawful acts, which in itself is a crime?
That's not going to happen even under a Labour government.
I take it this is in England and Wales, because here they still very actively investigate car crime and burglary.
Mikey, //The Tories, the "Party of Law and Order" have reduced Police numbers so much, that they can no longer do their job properly. //

And there you were only days ago telling us that the police have plenty of resources to investigate Ted Heath. Make your mind up!
No they wouldn't Mikey.......there would just be more of em playing social worker, arresting thousands for biting the head off black jelly babies and the like.
They investigate car crime here too.....................if your number plate is not spaced correctly they are all over you like a rash. Forget it though if some toerag slashes your tyres or wrenches your wing mirrors off. Meehh, coppers.
The Police should be able to investigate all crime. They shouldn't abandon work in one area, because they are having to work in another.

The reality is that now that Police numbers have been slashed, they just can't cope. Its a numbers game.
Mikey, the reality is they are failing to prioritise crimes that people would rather they deal with.
it's worse than we thought the BBC are cancelling crimewatch! http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-41648972
TTT....more dumbing down at the Beeb I'm afraid !

Naomi....Its obvious that the Police cannot possibly operate as well with 20,000 fewer officers, than they did before those Officers were got rid of, to save money.....you voted for the Tories....you made your bed and so now you are going to have to lie on it.
