A chat with my friend and a quick check of my bank account shows I have paid 26 monthly installments to a company called complete save . I cannot remember signing up for this and have NEVER had a statement
My friend and three other member of her family all had the same thing happen to them ?.
Have any of you had this happen ..... Did you get a refund.... I plan to go to my bank tomorrow to find out why they have paid this out for the past 26 months but shall I go to the police ?
I do plan to get in touch with this company as well as my friend did get a refund ... Apparently it is something to do with buying rail tickets on line ??
Very ashamed that I'd do not notice this money going out each month
Advice on how to proceed welcome !

Thanks -will phone them tomorrow
My understanding is with complete save is that after you have purchased something online they offer you a 10% discount if you click a box.

You must have clicked on the box - complete save have done nothing illegal so going to the police would be pointless!
See your bank not the police. I wouldn't bother contacting the company yet but it is likely in my opinion that you inadvertently signed up, perhaps tempted by some free gift/discount, to something that was not illegal. Shows the benefit of checking bank statements regularly

Thanks - I think taking a shed load of money and offering NOTHING in return and never communicating with 'MEMBERS' for 26 months is not exactly spotlessly clean!
Complete Save can't take money out of anyone's bank account unless they've been provided with the account details. You must have clicked on an offer on one of Complete Save's partner companies websites (which, apparently, does include The Trainline.com - but there are hundreds of others) and failed to read the small print.

They're a Swiss company, so (if they fail to pay up) you might have difficulties pursuing them for your money. (Good luck!)

Incidentally, if you do buy rail tickets online, you should NEVER use third party websites (such as TheTrainline.com). They can't offer cheaper fares than those available through the National Rail website, they frequently charge MORE (through adding on a transaction fee) and they've been known to issue tickets which aren't valid for travel on any train. (I used to run a railway station and had to sort out lots of problems with their tickets). Go here
http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/
(or the website of the relevant train company) and nowhere else!
