Available Funds?

Just looked at my bank account via mobile banking app (don't have a laptop to hand) and it shows my wages going in on 27th August. It shows the amount included my wages in 'current balance'.

Does that mean those funds are available now?

I know I could just try and buy something but there wasn't a fat lot in there before I get my wages and I don't want to go through the embarrassment of 'sorry your card has been declined'. Plus I'd have to get dressed.
