I didn`t know about this so thank you. I did it six or seven years ago just before some huge increases and saved quite a lot of money. Have know of people who lost out though but as prices usually go up not down I will consider it too.
I didn't know about it either.

I don't open the bills though :-)
I have no idea how gas prices will go. But, does signing up to this also mean you are signing up to stay with BG for the next three years? If so. it may not be such a smart move.

Yes I have done it for a long time, but this time to cover themselves in case of massive increases they have slapped a 7% surcharge on,I contacted British Gas about it and they were just like politicians, skirting round the real issue.

There are get out clauses,I think £35.00 per fuel
We're £1,300 in credit with BG. They sent a letter to say they were lowering our DD to £3 a month. Then they sent a letter to say they're sending another person to read the meter.

I think they think we're on the fiddle.
You will have to stay for the term. 7% surcharge is a new one. Makes a difference!

It has saved me a lot of money in the past, but there was no surcharge then.
I wouldn't touch British Gas with a barge pole, and I used to work for them.!!
I was never a fan of BG. I think we might take our money and switch.

My OH is a sucker for a deal....I bet we get a leccy bill for £1,200....

They are all the same.
cheapest deal going at the moment is npower fixed for one year, according to energyhelpline the official comparison site.
I would if I were offered it - we're in the middle of an earlier fixed price tariff at the moment.

Thanks everyone.
