My company want me to take my eyem test at a particular opticians. While they are legally obliged to pay for the test, surely they can't force me to go to a certain one??

Thanks,

why does it matter.. surely an eye test is an eye test?

is it still local to you?
if they're paying for it they can. they probably have an dagreement witht he opticans and get charged sep for the tests, rather than you paying and claiming iy back. they also only have to pay for a vdu sight test, not the full test, so if they are paying for the full one, shut up and go
yes they can They are paying.
yes and no.
just spoke to my OH who works in health and safety.
some employers have an optician that they have an arrangement with and you will have to go with that one if you don't want to pay and claim it back
We are forced to have our free eye test with one particular company but they cannot force you to buy the glasses there - you are free to take your prescription whereever you want.
