I've recently found an old savings book of an account I've got with National Provincial Building Society. As there's no trace of them on-line, can anyone tell me which company has taken them over/bought them out? Thanks.

They were taken over by Abbey National years ago.

I should add that Abbey are now part of Santander.

1996 ... National & Provincial BS → Abbey National
2003 ... Abbey National rebranded as Abbey
2004 ... Abbey → Grupo Santander
