Wrong Information on Credit File

Hi, it seems an address has been linked to my current one and debt is showing. I am so concerned as I have a very common name, have had issues with DSS in the past trying to accuse me of claiming when I didnt...so I accept it just my misfortune or my parents fault in not being more original!
I need to know if I can get a linked address moved from the credit file and if so how easy is it?
It has landed me in some bother as I applied to rent a new property, paid the app fee of £150 and half months rent of £475 and then app declined. Letting agent refusing to refund the £475 as they said I lied on the forms!!
I have explained but they are playing hardball and obviously dont believe me. I'm not well off so cant afford to lose the rental money.
