I live and work in Canada and want to send $500 a month to my parents in the UK to help support them in their retirement. They have UK bank accounts. What are my best options for transferring money on a regular basis to them?

I'm not sure about Canada to UK but I looked into sending money to Asia and Africa and found that Western Union was cheaper, safer and faster than any UK bank transfer. I have used it many times and have never had a problem.
