hi I have this year changed both house and car insurance - do I need to keep my old insurance's paperword

I would keep anything that says what no claims bonus you have accrued or anything to do with any claim, apart from that no.
I can't think why unless there is some incident yet to be sorted. And even then your old ensurers should have records.

I use the rule of thumb that if I've not used something for 150 years then it can probably just go into the archive.
If you are concerned then I would make a note of the name of the insurers and the policy nos.and keep this,then get rid of the paperwork by shredding.

Thank you all I will just keep front page details of account nos payments and no claims bonus. The other 500 pages can go in the shredder lol.
