Weight is up and down, not fat!
Good morning All, going down, sloooowly but surely. Some ladies in my training group were talking about their most dangerous temptation time...one to two hours before dinner. My tip is to plan for it and always have a hole filling bite of something on hand. Mine is some type of raw veg. For those nose turner uppers remember it’s not a treat you’re after, just a filler, but plan for it.

My worst time is before my evening meal which I like to have about 6 .
This weighing every day is up to the individual person .i know it goes up and down every day but I can cope seeing that , I don’t think it’s a bad thing .i am gradually losing my Xmas treats weight too . I have a tin of sweets going to my son .biscuits I can cope with and not binge on them . I have had a weight problem all my life just have to look at a cream cake and it clinging to me but having to cope with that I know I won’t put weight of 3 stone back of which I lost being on here from the start with xsticher a few years ago .
When I was a child I was teased for being tall and skinny. My weight problems began about 15 years ago and got really out of hand when I stopped smoking more than 10 years ago....well something had to go into my mouth
It is psychologically unwise to weigh everyday
Up again (but in fairness we did try out an Indian restaurant last night). Must have a 'good' compensating day today.
I'm not "on a diet", but I still weigh every day, and also keep a record of what I eat. It works for me because if I DO gain then I can quickly see what may have caused that gain. A person can be sensitive or intolerant to a particular food...hence a gain when it is eaten. It really depends on the individual.

I was against weighing daily when losing my 3 stone but not now . It is best to know sooner than later. But your weight can increase some days through no fault of your own .
Oh dear, Now it’s physiological dangerous to weigh yourself every day. Sorry but I can’t buy into that.
There are too many variants to come with such a blanket statement. It would be more correct to say that it COULD give physiological problems to SOME types of people to weigh themselves every day. As I’ve said before we aren’t the 'weigh in' police here. We appreciate ideas and tips and hearing about your weight loss journey be it long or short.
But posting you're up 1lb or down 1lb on a daily basis can't be good because there's much more to weight gain/loss than fat.
It’s unwise because you become obsessed with an untrustworthy weight and then attempt to change your food intake to try and rectify perceived gains.
You’re so right ummmm . In my case because of a heart condition I’m looking out for sudden water retention. However it does give me a good idea of my weight stability. Having just lost 20 kilos with the excellent help of a dietician I don’t wish to start back sliding and too large portions will make themselves known very quickly. I post once a week not every day. I don’t think any of us do that. We decided when I started this that we would post on Wednesdays giving us a few days to get over the sins of the weekend. I think most of us have now laid weekend 'sinning' behind us and have got into a healthy eating routine but we still enjoy coming on here to have a quick hello.
I did say that after my one and only visit to this website and the venomous reception by the two main posters on this site, that i would never return,but i feel that i must on this occasion.

You have completely missed the excellent point made by Rockrose when she posted that daily weighing could be PSYCHOLOGICALLY unwise. You then went on to rebuke her statement on PHYSIOLOGICAL grounds..... completely missing her point.

As far as your point concerning heart failure being an indication for daily weighing, this is complete nonsense as fluid retention from heart failure develops over months or years and daily weighing would be totally unnecessary.

Rockrose has a point, well made, so please take it on board and respect other opinions on a section that you and Wendilla consider your own.
I was thinking that water retention might be the cause of some peoples perceived weight gain

I get awful water retention whenever I go on holiday.
Symptoms of water retention
bloating, especially in the abdominal area.
swollen legs, feet, and ankles.
puffiness of the abdomen, face, and hips.
stiff joints.
weight fluctuations.
indentations in the skin, similar to what you see on your fingers when you've been in the bath or shower a long time.

I wouldn't say that. There are a few monthly contributors to this section and i'm sure Xstitcher and wendilla don't actually consider that.

Regardless, even if they do, they have some what of a right to, as it seems to me, they've kept this thread afloat for a good while. Along with OG.

My opinion regarding daily weighs is.. The more statistics for analysation the better, and the longer time period the better.

IE, a weigh of 12 stone per day may fluctuate between 11.13 and 12.01, but if you take all the data, and take a step back and focus on the weekends (if you weight every day, then you weigh on weekends also) you can see your weekly weigh in, whilst also being able to "zoom in" to specific days.

Regardless what you're analysing, smaller time frames are just as good as large, if you remember not to focus on specific days, and remember to analyse from a distance, if you get what i mean?

Anyhow.. Let people do it their own way, we're all unique and everyone's situation and reason for weight loss are different. If anything, saltiness is something we can all leave from our diets but more specifically this thread ;P
Writing for myself, I have no psychological worries regarding excess data. I can't say the same about being data deprived though. I can accept there will be variation and shrug but would be uncomfortable with missing daily trends.
