Hi everyone! Hope you all had a good Christmas. Here is January's Onwards and Downwards thread. I have a house full of chocolate and wine but am now happy to pace myself after a week of over-indulgence. What about you?

Here is December's thread: https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Body-and-Soul/Weight-Loss-and-Dieting/Question1582171.html

Ferrero Rocher and cheese are legitimate food groups... right?
as long as you have a biscuit with both, yes
I don't really stuff myself over Christmas. But it's hard to resist that bit of yummy cheese that's staring at me begging to be eaten. I've had my favourite Roses from the tin (plastic box) so am back to normal now. Hope the extra couple of pounds go away without too much trouble.
Cheers Ed.
The twelve days are still with us !
Now where did I put the wine & chocolates ?
Well I'm joining this thread. Dont want to be a fat bride.....
Barmaid you are not fat!!! A balanced diet cutting back on the sweet stuff but having a treat is the way to go x
Happy New Year everyone and hello to those who remember me as a returner to this thread. With your support I found the self-discipline to lose over 3 stone a few years ago and although I have managed to keep most of it off, I have gained a few pounds over these last few months.

I went back to work today and felt better for a quick breakfast and a salad lunch with no more Christmas food around. But low and behold, a collegaue arrive with sweets and chocolates she couldnt manage at home!

How do I tell her politely to go elsewhere with her left overs?!
Lol I don't think there is a polite way - she is trying to get them out of her house to save her over eaten - put them in a cupboards so they are out of sight out of mind.
Just to mention that I won't be in any position to join in tomorrow's weekly weigh-in. As you may have gathered from my previous post, I've yet to find my way home; so no scales for me this time around.
Hello maydup it’s really nice to see you again. You’re my role model in a way. I remember very well your journey down the scales and am glad to hear it stuck. Your co worker must think that you are very slim and that a bit of chocolate won’t hurt you! I firmly believe that the will power to avoid naughty foods is very difficult to achieve. That box of chocolates would be flashing at me through the cupboard doors. Would it be possible to get the contents out of the building little by little? This way the shining would be your halo and not the other. Does hubby eat them? Good luck in avoiding the temptation and please don’t stay away so long the next time.
Good morning a new year beginning . I have gained 2 lbs so off to the naughty step. I know what to do but no point in putting chocs in cupboard they have to be disposed off or they will find a way of getting out believe me .So my son and grandson have had them they are not proned to weight problems .
welcome back maydup nice to hear you are maintaining and I am sure like me you know what to do .
welcome too to Barmade .xstitcher and I have been here for about 4 years maybe more with xstitcher starting this healthy eating posts and we lose a few but nice to see people coming back as its the only way to keep the weight off if you have strayed .
Good morning all, I’ve stayed the same. Since I have to weigh myself every day I now take the average of those 7 days. My first dietician moved elsewhere, the second one had a slipped disc so never even got started and I have an appointment with the third one in two weeks time....fingers crossed.
I hope the transition from holiday food hasn’t been too hard on everyone.
Good Morning and pass . Had a disagreement with a box of chocolates .the chocolates won .
Went up, but less than expected over the Xmas/New Year period. This week stayed the same. Next week must start making amends.
I've definitely gone up a dress size over the Christmas period, but I've already been running twice this week so HOPEFULLY I'll get back in control!!
Lost weight over Christmas 5.5lb so happy with that.
Good morning all, as I approach my goal my weight loss is definitely slowing down despite my intake being the same. Since I must weigh myself everyday I can see how weight fluctuates. I’ve gone down one to two sizes...hard to figure when clothes sizes are so different. What I didn’t expect was to go down a size in shoes. Of course that could have been the excess water I was carrying.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
I weigh in at 9.11, I'm a short ass but when that number comes up always make me think of other things, I actually thought that I'd put on weight over the Christmas/new year period. Good luck to you all trying to lose weight after the festivities.
Good Morning all and welcome arksided stay with us as it helps us to know what we are doing wrong and we welcome others views on things .I have gained 2 lbs not surprised after the big box of chocs won . But after being on here for a few years with xstitcher that started this about 3 to 4 years ago I know what to do so watch this space for next week as all the temptations are gone .
Morning all, cant stop sorry, but no change this week.

I know what to do food wise, but I also need to get up and move more. Sitting at a desk all day is not good for me. Must run!
