I have been seeing a lady for around a week. She was due to sleep here tonight. I asked her if she would mind getting the bus home (about 5 miles) sometime after I left for work at 7 as I had 3 passengers in my car who rely on me to get them to work and it was still early days in our relationship for me to want others to know of it. I also thought it may be a bit embarrassing for her to be seen getting in my car at that time of the morning.
She's gone off on one!! Am I being unreasonable

Perhaps it might have been more tactful to pay for a taxi for her?
yes! you want her to stay but you're embarrassed for others to see her. I'd be offended if I were her.
oh come on. she is styartying to spit her dummy out so quickly so early on!. Dont stand for it dude or she will get worse amd worse. get alpha on her ass :)

No sara. It's hasn't been a week yet, I'm a bit uneasy about it if she dumps me some of the people in the car are friends who will take the P!! and I honestly thought it may be a bit awkward for her too.

handshaker - Thats my feeling. It seems to be the "early days" words I used that has set her off. I think that she thinks she owns me already.
Quick worker! Only going out for a week and already sleeping in your house.

As for going off on one, I'd have told you to stuff it.

What an uncharitable thought - creep out after I've gone and take the bus indeed. You'll be asking her to wear dark glasses and keep her collar turned up, next.

You old romantic
I don't know.. if you really like her perhaps you could get up half an hour earlier to drive her home?
She can share your bed but not your car?
sgt...sounds fine to me. if you haven't got room in the car then you can't give her a lift, can you? also understand your point about the awkwardness, but then she may have the skin of a rhinoceros compared to yours! also, why should sgt pay for a taxi home? no self respecting woman should go anywhere and eat/drink/stay/get home without having sufficient covering funds or arrangements to cover it. in this day and age it is just sad to say the bloke should do everything. aren't we women capable of organising ourselves or something? sgt...if she gets into a hissy fit about something as trivial as this, are you sure you want things to go further? you may not have had some (ahem!) fun in a while, but please make sure its gonna be worth it before you rush in - she sounds like a nightmare! x

Get up half an hour earlier? Heaven forbid, I don't like her that much!!
hang on.. is she with you now??
you're just bad!
Doesn't sound like you have any chance of getting up at all

Sara - no she's pouting. What would you ladies do in a similar situation, car or bus?

Think I''m detecting a bit of a male/female split in your answers.

I'd tell you where to stick your lift, and be off!
Well, as a male-type person, I'd take the lady home then pick up the passengers for work. To my mind, leaving an overnight guest you have been intimate with to make her own way home, would leave the impression that you've got what you want and don't care enough about her to make any special effort for her.

But wouldn't it have been more sensible to have her stay over when neither of you have to get up to go to work in the morning ?
i think huderson has hit the nail on the head!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if you really like this girl you have alot of making up to do
