Saw an article in the Sun asking for people to send cards and letters to forces who would be away from home for Christmas in 1996. There was one address that stood out so I wrote a letter and this guy wrote back. We met in Feb 1997 and got married in the September. We are re-newing our vows on our 20th anniversary this year!

No.
No. Met him at school.
Mine was my karate instructor. I gave him a nosebleed. He is ex now :-)

No. Was out for a drink with a Mate. She came into the Bar with a group of friends including the barman's wife. I said to my mate "the brunette in the leather jacket, she's mine" Got her number via the barman later on and 32 years later she still is.

What wearing the leather jacket?

Hi Sqid, yeah it still fits perfectly.
LOL^^^
Mine was anything but romantic. Phoned number of a garage in Exchange and Mart. Listened to the message on the answerphone and slammed down the phone thinking I don't trust that voice. (He was Italian). Later called back and went to him for spare parts. Had 2 spare parts (now grown up) and 37 years of marriage to him, sadly he died in 2016.
No. My husband was friends with my sister and seen me one day pass them while sat on his motorbike. He asked if she new me. 'That's my sister'! she replied. He said a voice in his head told him he was going to marry me.......
Knew...
Please tell me i am not the only one who invited my OH out to win a bet? Is that romantic?
She still doesn't know.
Not really romantic, we actually met online and then in the flesh at an art exhibition and sculpture garden, we were both displaying are works, then I took her out for dinner after the event.
RAtter, you're such a smooth operator, :-)
Mine was more unusual than romantic. We worked together. She was attractive but quite a bit younger than me, so I always remained aloof.
At the time I used to go rock climbing and one weekend, at a tiny place near Wrexham, I had a fall and snapped my femur in half. When someone called my workplace on the Monday to let them know, it was she who took the call. I was told some weeks later that she was utterly distraught.
Once I got back to work we became close and had about 5 years together.
You fell for her, anax?
We met in an old chateau in rural France.
My daughter was in the Union during her first year at University and when the football results came up our team hadn't lost so she cheered. Another student, on the other side of the bar stood up, looked around and said Where's that girl, I'm going to marry her. Six years later, they did and we got the manager to send them best wishes. The team haven't been quite as happy though.
Off topic, but Phil Cool (remember him?) once said - "I met my wife in Australia." I said "What the *** hell are you doing here?"

Now that is romantic, Kath.
