I met a guy recently on a dating website - he seems like a decent chap. We met for the first time last weekend - we just met up briefly on the Saturday evening for a soft drink to see if we liked each other.

He then asked me out for a meal on the Wednesday. The meal went well enough. He text me when I got home to say he had nice time and asked if he could see me again to which I replied I'd be happy to. He was having his daughter to stay from Saturday (yesterday) to Tuesday so I said I would leave it up to him on the when/where.

Anyway I've not heard anything back from him since Wednesday night. It's now Sunday. I thought he would've dropped me a text or something by now? I haven't text him as I would rather put the ball in his court. I would guess he's not that fussed about me if he's not dropped me a text over the weekend, even just to say hi. What do you think?

You told him to leave it up to him...he'll probably contact you when daughter has gone....Just wait or you'll seem needy !
I think it's all a game this texting stuff, maybe he's trying to be cool, maybe he's not interested. Only time will tell. Some would tell you to text him, me I wouldn't chase.
Ah!......two possibilities here:

1) His daughter is actually a date from the Dating Agency who he has met before and is willing to spend a long weekend with him.

2) he actually is having his daughter spend the weekend with him LOL.LOL..and will contact you on Wednesday.

You will have to wait and see.........and.....I agree with Prudie.

Prudie, I'm definitely not going to text him first. If he's keen he'll get back to me. Clearly though he's not overly fussed!
Sqad you old cynic ! Lol...xx
Question Author
Sqad, I never thought about scenario 1 - you could very well be right! Lets face it, if he was that keen he would've text me in the evening when the wee one was asleep.
How do you feel about him? Would you like him in your life as a friend or maybe more or are you not really bothered?
If you would like to see him again, I would suggest a quick lighthearted text, just to keep contact. You are obviously thinking about him.
murray........LOL

O.K, I have got a spare weekend for sex........now I have an established bird that is an easy lay and of which i am a bit bored OR fit in another applicant before the weekend and see if she is a "goer."

I think that he may...just may, revert back to the "cert."

And of course I'm not sure whether to keep logging into the dating site and continuing as normal (communicating with others) or not at this stage. I had 'hid' my pics and changed my settings so no one could contact me until I knew what was happening with this guy. I didn't want him to think I was seeing multiple people - I'm not sure about the online dating etiquette. Seems stupid me sitting in all weekend and keeping off the dating site waiting on a text that might never arrive...
mizfiesta........don't hesitate to consult me at any time.
PS Sqad, glad to see you posting (did you know I stalk you?) I was worried that you hadn't been around for a day or so.

\\\\I'm not sure about the online dating etiquette. Seems stupid me sitting in all weekend and keeping off the dating site waiting on a text that might never arrive...\\\

EXACTLY.

Jakep, yea I think he seems like a nice guy (but who knows at this stage) and I would like to get to know him better - slowly.

To be honest there's no way I'd text him first. I need him to make all the moves at this stage. I may be slightly insecure but I need it to come from him in the early days.
Prudie......one or two posts "p1ssed" me off........so i took a breather for a couple of days.
miz put your profile back on, appearing exclusive after one date will look a bit pushy, sad even to him.
Question Author
Sqad, I will take you up on that offer - I need someone straight talking :)
Question Author
...so carry on in the dating site as normal?
There there sqad...everything alright now ?
I wouldn't text either or contact either - but then one wonders why does the man always have the upper hand. if mizzy contacts him she is needy but it is ok the other round - "all is fair in love and war" - I wonder - .
mizfiesta........Fine, i am "Satisfaction" on,illicit encounters .com..........;-)
