As promised the results of his ultrasound scan. Despite repeated examination, nothing could be found. Good in one way, but not in the other. Visiting G>P. end of week.

thanks Sqad. doctor has just 'phoned amd said there is fat round hubby's liver and weightloss is the only answer. Apart from the abdo he is not overweight, skinny legs, arms etc. and a small appetite. Doc couldn't tell him how to lose weight on one place, especially as he is too weak to do exercise!
Thanks again......we still do not know the cause of the fluid that was aspirated from his abdomen when he had the heart attack and why a fatty liver on scan?

hallo again Sqad, We were just told the fluid was "all part of the cardiac arrest and now gone". No explanation about the fatty liver either. Pur doctor told hubby to have half a slice of dry toast instead of a whole one for breakfast! He said to aim at one pound weightloss per week. As we eat very frugally already, plenty of fruit and veg etc. do not know what else to cut/
Thanks mrs M
I read on someone's blog that some meds can cause fatty liver...sqad, any comments?
woofgang.....you are quite correct, but I cant remember of hand which ones :-(

Chloroform did in the early 20th century, but that would not be a problem now.

I think that Methotrexate and long term steroids might cause fatty liver, but uncommon.
