this guy who is about 42...(i m in my 20's); why does he try to ignore me at all cost all of a sudden? granted, he is married and is just an aquaintance. i never gave him any idea i was interested in his friendship, but he use to chat with me and always pleasant and kind. now a days for past few months, he ignores me. he does not ask me to help with any project our group is having or try to involve me in anything. when i see him and he sees me at far distance, he pretends i m not there. i m also great friends with his wife. she talks with me and we get along great. whenever his wife as me to do anything that would benefit the both of them, he does not even say thank you or acknowledge it. he pretends i m not even there. only in desparate situations, he calls me to help with something. anyway, he is all buddy buddy with this other friend (who is also female abt 35 - i m also very close friend with this female)...he talks to her more since me and this female has become friends. then when me and her are standing and laughing he comes and interrupts our conversation talking only to her and not say a word to me, then leaves. he passes me by and says nothing. this is so weird bcuz he use to find ways to get me to notice him (as friend, make jokes, etc.) what is going on?..possibly?

Yesterday, when i was talking to the other female (35) , he called he to talk with her before i could chat with her...then he was shaking her hand a long time..and chatting to her, so i left, bcuz i could not wait longer to chat with her. He also is friends with everyone else..does not really speak with me..very stand-offish.

please do not misunderstand my position..i m not trying to take anything from anyone involved..we were all friends..just wanted to get opinions on the matter.

Do you fancy him? or have you give him reason to think you fancy him?
Question Author
actually...i have done quite the opposite
He may have just realised that he fancies you.
if you're not giving him the 'come on' find yourself a bf of your own age, preferably single.

Always remember men have extended families, mother/wife/sisters/bruvs etc who will whap you for breaking up families.
Two possibilities here:

1. He's realised he's attracted to you and doesn't know how to handle it.

2. He's afraid you are attracted to him and he's terrified of the consequences (being married and all).

You are concerned enough to write a really long narrative about this situation, so be honest... do you have more than platonic feelings for this guy?
I agree with No Mercy. He is attracted to you but knows you are "off limits".

Please don't try and take it any further as it does sound as though deep down you have some feelings for him.

You sound nice and should have no problems in finding someone.
perhaps his wife is supicious an has accused him ...warned him to keep away...
I reckon joko is on the right lines
Sounds like he's doing your friend
I agree with joko, he probably doesnt fancy you but maybe his wife does not feel comfortable with your friendship and has asked him to stop talking to you.

maybe you were giving back different vibes than the other female friends he talks to.
It amazing how we all think alike - I agree he probably is developing feelings for you and aware it's wrong, and perhaps his wife is suspicious and has scolded him.
And I do think you have a spot for him too. :-)
have you said something to his wife, that might have been between you and him , or about his new friend and him, maybe unknowingly you might have, his wife may have said it to him and he pawned it off lightly to her but secretly blames you.......i had a similiar situ and thats how i kind of reacted. time heals all
