Pulmacort inhaler and NebuChamber advice

My 2 year old son has breathing difficulties and when dischaged from hospital last time had his preventer inhaler changed to the Pulmacort 100 microgram spray inhaler.
When I got the medicine home it said on the box that the inhaler was only licenced to be used with a NebuChamber spacer device.
This was not given to us at the hospital. I have asked various pharmacies, none have it in stock nor know if it is important that the inhaler be used with the recommended spacer or if any can be used (looking on the web the Nebuchamcer is metal whereas his current one is plastic).
Does anyone know if it has to be the NebuChamber that is used and if metal / plastic makes a difference?

Call nhs direct..0845 4647 they will answer your question. You don`t have to be ill to ask their advise.

The plastic Nebuchambers were discontinued by the manufacturers follow a product recall (mainly due to patients not attaching the inhaler correctly to the chamber).
The product has now been redesigned and is metal.
Please speak to your GP and get a prescription for one.
If the pharmacy do not hold it in stock, they should be able to order one for you.
