Further to my previous thread about my knee, the doctor told me to do some exercises, saying the problem wasnt arthritis. however now it feels as if the kneecap is coming away from the knee sometimes, when i walk ! Not painful, just a weird feeling. What causes this ?

Speaking as a non-doctor, it could be a dislocated patella (ouch! painful) or a chondromalacia patella (rough kneecap). I'd give you six months.
My patella used to dislocate without any warning............it used to be quite embarrassing when I fell over, and they had to cart me off the A&E to have it put back in.......:-(
I broke my left patella in two places in a spectacular fall in 1989 and it still feels seperated from where it should be. A very strange feeling indeed and of course I do now have arthritis in it. Hope you get sorted.

M
Google.....Patellar subluxation.

Sqad i googled it, it sounds very probable. Not bad pain, just for a second then it goes back again. I have started wearing Fitflops for more support under the feet and will continue the exercises. thanks all.
