I seem to not heal very well from minor scratches, even when my cat attacks me, I'm left with a scar, and even after 2 months the scar is still there. Should I be worried?

My skin is like this as well - just very sensitive.  If you are worried see your GP.
could be to do with not eating the right foods. My ex never ate any veggies and she was the same.

Cheers, but if its a choice between being hideously scarred or eating vegetables, the scars win everytime. I've heard chicks dig scars anyway.
This also sounds like a symptom of diabetes, check with your local Lloys pharmacy for a free test!
i am a diabetic and i dont have this problem and i have never heard of this as a sign of it?
may be just a vitamin deficiency - go to your GP and they should be able to tell you what vitamin you're lacking.

Draw your fingernail down your forearm on the inside, pressing down quite firmly.  If you have sensitive skin it will leave a red mark which will take ages to fade.  On this type of skin scratches, etc. will leave scars which take ages to fade as well.  This was told to me by my GP.  I don't personally think you have anything wrong at all, but I do still think that if you are worried you should have a word with your GP.

.......  and I eat loads of vegetables!

I'm recovering from a car crash and have been advised to take 'Wheat Germ Oil'. It's a good healer for your skin. It tastes foul in the natural oil form, but you can get it in tablet form. It very rich in Vitamin E.

Buy some Vitamin E capsules, split them open and rub the liquid vitamin E on to any scar or wound.  It's amazing how well they heal.
You're right, chicks really dig scars..... especially when you tell them you got them from your cat!  It will drive them wild......

Did I say it was a cat? I meant knife wielding maniac with 2 tigers
Just be more careful, wear gloves! Also use a barrier cream on skin before work to protect against oils & dirt etc which may get in a cut and slow healing process. You could also contract tetanus which needs a jab at the doc's.

I read that if you consume enough Vitamin C, your skin will heal very fast like it is supposed to, and you won't get scars at all.  But you have to have some every day, and it may be too late to start taking it "after the fact".  Before you ever get another scratch, you might want to start taking it now!  There are lots of fruits & veggies that have V-C if you don't like orange juice (I don't); apple juice has plenty of it.

Very recent studies have shown that Vitamin E is dangerous in large amounts, so be careful with that one.

Hi. do you suffer from any other medical conditions? This might affect your ability to heal.
