Lizzie, I am sure there is nothing wrong with you.  Tampons do need some practice.  When I first started using them at not much older than you I went out and brought super plus!!  They were far too big, but I didn't realise they came in different sizes.  Gosh I did have trouble!  Tampons can hurt if you take them out whilst they are still dry and even more if you are dry when you insert them.  It may be that you are changing them too of ten and they are remaining quite dry.  You are perhaps getting anxious when you insert them which will make you tighten up and then it will hurt.   Therefore try and relax.

Talk to your friends or a kind female relative about it.  It will take you a while to become used to using them.

I know you are off to the docs tomorrow, so why not have a word with him/her.  Don't be embarrassed because they have seen loads of young people who feel stressed about such things.  He might suggest that you wait until you are a little older.

Above all, Lizzie, there is nothing wrong with you.  This is all normal.

Hi I  have the same problem. The first 1 you use is easiest to put up because it is moist, but the tampon soaks up the moisture so it becomes harder the 2nd/3rd ... time you use one. If it is uncomfy when you have put it in you because it is not far enough in. If it's uncomfy just take it out and try another one. This normally works for me. I hope this helps.

Lizzie, I have just searched and found a really good site for you to visit:  This link is to the part of the site that you might find most useful, but take a look around the rest of the site as well.

wow Fakeplastic is that the longest link ever?
Lizzie, u silly....tut tut...Don't you watch the Tampon adverts???? I've read your question over and over again, yet I see no mention of you going parachuting. Every Tampon add I've ever seen shows the wearer jumping out of a plane and parachuting down to the ground. Have you tried this yet? I presume it's something to do with gravity. Hope this helps.

Do I get a prize, Jules OO1?

The whole thread has widened to the length of my link!  Has this happened to everybody else?

I love your answer creativeTECH.  I am sure it will cheer Lizzie up
Lizzie, where do your insides hurt when you use tampons?  What i mean is is it at the site of the tampon, or do you mean abdominal pain?  If its abdominal you would probably be wise to get it checked out at the GP's although I'm sure as everyone else has said, it is nothing to worry about. If it's any consolation I could never get on with tampons when i was younger (I'm assuming you're a teenager?) because of the same reasons that Fakeplastic & Eggcup5 have already mentioned, so please don't think that you are abnormal!  We've all been there....  Hope that's put your mind at rest a bit, good luck  x

xxlizziexx, I had the same problem  when i first started and found tampons very uncomfartable while friends of mine had no problems what so ever, I preferred to use sanitary towells as thats what i feel more comfortable with- Its horrible being a women I know -Men never have to go through anything like this -they proberly couldn't handle it.!

xxlizziexx don't worry that theres anything wrong with you its perfectly normal weve all gone through it and it will just take practise until you get used to them. x

OH and it looks like ive got widescreen !

I remember the first time I tried to use a tampon because I was shaking so much. As FP says, it's probably because you are changing them to often. Taking them out whilst dry & insterting new ones too often will cause more dryness & soreness. You will soon get used to using them in time. Good luck.
P.S. You are a perfectly normal & sensible young lady -xx-

FAKE you're most welcome. I hope there wasn't a mad rush for travel insurance post my add...I mean you need such things when u get on a plane, even if your only intention is to jump out of the thing.
