Hope someone can help, my wife has very irregular periods, she can go 3 months without one, but sometimes it will come on time, sometimes 3-4 months before a period, she never knows when its going to come. We have been trying for a baby for last 9 months but she cant concieve at moment and it is now stressing us both out which is not helping, its actually straining our relationship.
She has been to the doctor who done a blood test and they have come back clear other then slightly low glucose.
She is due to have a scan at some point aswell to see what it may be, When she was on the pill her periods were regular, its only since she has come off the problems have started.
Can anyone provide any advice as we are very worried we wont be able to have any kids.

Many thanks

you say "she can't conceive" but I think you mean "she hasn't conceived". sounding so negative really won't help matters.

how long was she on the pill for, and when did she stop taking it?

Sorry! She was on the pill for almost 8 years but been off it for 9 months. Thanks
It can take a while for the body to settle down after coming off the pill. it may be worth getting one of those home ovulation kits to see if and when she's ovulating.
9 months seems a long time when trying for a baby but it can take a lot longer for some people. i dont think they will even test you until trying at least 18mths. my friend and husband were trying for 18mths both had tests done and found nothing wrong. couple of months later and they are now pregnant due in august, she had been on contraceptive injection for a while before and when she came off it her periods were like your wifes, very irregular and lasting different lengths. she didnt even know she was pregnant for a bit as she still had period.
I think you should not blame your wife because she isn't pregnant, the problem could be nearer home YOU ever think that you could be firing blanks? I suggest you get tested. Ask your mother if you had Mumps as a small boy, this sometimes can be the reason.
remember the body isn't designed to be pumped with chemicals and rebels, therefore taking a long time to adjust. It all takes time, be patient and stop stressing out, relax. Good Luck. &
Get Tested.

Maybe she has PCOS.

Thanks for all the advice, much appreciated.
I have a daughter from a previous relationship, and am supporting my wife and will continue to do so. Thanks again...
Steve, I remember being told by my GP that for every year you take the pill it takes that number of months for your fertility to return, so theoretically it's probably just about to return to normal.

fingers crossed x
I agree with Velvetee.

I have PCOS and my blood sugar is often so low that I am physically ill.

Thanks, but sorry what is PCOS?

PCOS = Polycystiv Ovary Syndrome ( Basically cysts on the ovaries - The scan will show if this is the case)
