As my health kick started last week, I was thinking of bringing a jacket potato into work for my lunch. However, I don't want to cook it from scratch in the microwave as I don't have too long for my lunch. Is it possible to cook it in the oven at home on a night then reheat it in the microwave when I'm ready to eat it?! Thanks

That's great - I'll shove one in the oven tonight ready for tomorrow - they're much better done in the oven!
Should be ok but wont be crispy a tad soggy methinks!!!
I prefer them done in the oven too and have to re-heat in micro at work, I've never experienced them being soggy, Puddi x
I don't eat the skins anyway....

Best part of the potato ummm. Is it below you to eat the skins? :-)
That reminds me of last night's Corrie - do you say baked potato or jacket potato? (Michelle says baked, Liz & Steve say jacket - which side of the potato fence are you on?)
The skin is the best bit, if cooked in a proper oven.

Don't forget to take off the foil, atkinsonr
Baked
jacket all the way

and i've never experienced soggyness on the re-heating either

Top-tip I got off an army cook...par boil them for 5mins or so before you put them in the oven...they cook much quicker.

I caught that part of Corrie last night - it's Jacket for me too!
But if you peel the potato first, it aint gorra jacket, does it becomes baked?
Can i ask why do people put silver foil around the potato when they put it in the oven anyway, i never have and makes a fantastic crispy spud!!!
i thought you only put foil round it when you put them in a bbq, i've never done that for an oven
thats what they do on jacket potato stalls you see them pick them out already cooked and just bake them a bit more
It stops them drying out. In fact, they are steamed potatoes.
